First year 2024

On June 1, 2024, under the patronage of D5T5, a gathering took place for all owners and enthusiasts of Volvo and Saab cars. Despite unfavorable weather, with frequent rain showers, the event enjoyed a high turnout. Approximately 150 enthusiasts arrived at the Sosnová Autodrome with around 90 vehicles.

Free Access to the Autodrome Track

One of the main attractions was free access to the autodrome track. Car owners had the chance to experience driving on a professional racing circuit. Safety measures were, of course, in place, allowing visitors to enjoy their ride stress-free while testing their driving skills behind the wheel.

Testing Volvo City Safety

Another highlight was testing the City Safety system, where visitors had the opportunity to see how their vehicles respond in simulated emergency situations. This contributed to a better understanding and trust in these innovative safety systems.

Virtual Motion Simulator

For those who wanted to experience driving purebred race cars, a virtual simulator was available. This experience allowed participants to explore various driving conditions and scenarios without leaving the covered area, including the simulation of the rainy weather prevailing that day.

D5T5 Sales Booth

D5T5 also showcased both new and older merchandise available for purchase. Additionally, their hardware and original Volvo parts were on sale.

Of course, the event wouldn’t be complete without the Volvo Club booth!

Representatives from the Czech Technical University (ČVUT) also honored the event with their presence. Experts from the university presented the latest technologies and research in the automotive industry, adding a professional and educational dimension to the gathering.

Despite the inclement weather, the meet-up proved to be highly successful. Participants enjoyed a diverse program and had the chance to connect with other enthusiasts who share the same passion for Volvo and Saab cars. Once again, the event demonstrated the strength of this community of car lovers!

Thank you all for attending, and we look forward to the next gathering in September 2024, which will take the form of a track day. A full-scale meet-up is planned again for June 2025!
